RRSP (REÉR) - a registered retirement savings plan is an investment account set up with a trustee to which an individual contributes within the limits set by Canadian federal and Quebec income tax legislation. It benefits from favourable tax treatment. It may be self-managed (the investor decides on each investment in the RRSP) or not (in which event the trustee or another entity decides on how it is to be invested).
